About David Perry
Director of Auckland Lifts
David attended school in Whangarei and afterwards, went on to take an apprenticeship as a Radio and Electronic Technician. Following this, he commenced an electrical apprenticeship and gained his NZ Electrical registration. He then embarked on a career in the elevator industry. This work took him all over the world.
David’s Experience
1985 – Serviceman, The Electric Construction Company, Auckland
1989 – Installation Technician, Boral Elevators, Sydney
1990 – Construction Manager, Boral Elevators, Auckland. David was the modernization “guru” for Boral Elevators and supervised many upgrades for this company, traveling to Boral headquarters in Melbourne frequently to share his knowledge and experience with the entire team
1993 – Elevator Supervisor and Advisor, Kumgai Gumi Construction, Port Moresby Papua New Guinea
1994 – Elevator Supervisor and Advisor, Kumgai Gumi Construction, Suva, Fiji
1998 – Service Manager covering the state of Florida, USA for a crane installation and servicing company affiliated with South Eastern Galvanizing. He worked on several sites in locations such as Miami, Birmingham, Tampa, Virginia and South Carolina
2000 – KONE Elevators Team Leader for the Metro portion of KONE’s portfolio, attaining awards for: Best maintenance; Best call rate; Lowest “sick lift” rate for all of Australasia
2006 – Auckland elevator and escalator installation, maintenance and repair company. David was promoted to Service Manager in 2008
2011 – David founded Auckland Lifts
David has held IQP (Independently Qualified Person) status for elevators (Reg No. 110601) since 1997
Operations Manager: Jeannette Bennett Jeannette assists David to ensure that daily activities at Auckland Lifts contribute to the effective production of efficient and reliable services. David developed his vision with Jeannette’s help and together they manage the overall performance of the company’s operation. Jeannette works with clients on a daily basis and you may also find her on site assisting David and other technicians with Health and Safety requirements.
Administrator: Lilia Koltsova
Lilia very ably assists with the accounting and
administration requirements of Auckland Lifts.
She also ensures that there is positive coordination between staff, contractors and clients.
Leon Viljoen – Technician. Leon came to us from South Africa and works on all aspects of our business, and is a full time employee.
